In his annual show of love to mark the end of Ramadan fast, billionaire industrialist and founder of Eleganza Group of Companies, Aare Razaq Akanni Okoya and his beautiful wife, Chief Dr. Shade Okoya had hundreds of aged, indigent persons, within the community in their expansive Oluwanishola estate yesterday. Though, he is not physically present having gone on the lesser Hajj with his wife, Shade Okoya, his family were able to do all that needed to be done.
This year’s edition was a bit different due to COVID-19 protocols. Only few dignitaries like Amb. Demola Seriki, Mr. Fola Tinubu, Akanni Bashua, and some Muslim faithfuls were able to join Aare Razaq Okoya’s younger brother, Alhaji Tajudeen Okoya in the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer which was conducted by Imam Akintola Almaroof, the Imam of the mosque in Oluwanishola estate to end the fasting period. After the short prayer session, the people who were present to receive Chief Okoya’s humanitarian gesture were well-arranged to receive Ankara clothes, food items, among other. Despite the huge number of people, everyone left Oluwanishola estate with smiles on their faces and goody bags in their hands.

During the Eid prayer also attended by Trek Africa Newspaper, Imam Akintola Almaroof urged Nigerians not to relent in prayers and support for the country. ‘We have hope for this country especially as Muslims that have acquired a lot during Ramadan. If we can put it into practice, the future of the country is great. We have hope that this country will be good. My message to the President and to other leaders is that they should fear Allah because they were not appointed by themselves, family, or tribe but by all Nigerians.’
Alhaji Tajudeen Okoya, who spoke briefly with Oki Samson of Trek Africa Newspaper on the significance of the yearly humanitarian gesture, noted that whether his elder brother is around or not, they have to bless the community around them as commanded by Allah. He added ‘I want all Nigerians to be more patient and tolerant. Rome is not built in a day. In the name of God, everything will be in control. I will also appeal to our government that God will give them wisdom to do it right. Nigerians have been patient, we need more of actions. By the grace of God, God will guide them, we have no other country than Nigeria.’
