Still in the mood of celebrations of the 33rd anniversary of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Udom Emmanuel is set to commission residential quarters for soldiers at the Wellington Bassey Barracks, Ibagwa, Abak LGA, today, Wednesday 30th September 2020.
According to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the residential quarters comprising of 7 blocks of 12 flats, were all remodeled and provided with necessary household equipment like kitchenettes and fans by Governor Udom Emmanuel as part of measures towards providing a comfortable accommodation and conducive environment for the Army at the 6 Amphibious Battalion, Ibagwa, to operate.
Also to be commissioned at the Ibagwa Barracks is a water reticulating system for the Barracks which had suffered severe water lack and poor sanitary conditions before the intervention.
Comrade Ini Ememobong said, the intervention which has remained a continuous exercise by government is geared at cultivating good working relationship with the army and other security operatives in the state towards boosting security in the state.
So far 169 flats have been remodeled and rehabilitated at the Ibagwa Barracks for the army by Governor Udom Emmanuel.
